Hotel Rey Don Felipe – Punta Arenas (Chile)

[PT] Depois de um longo caminho pela estrada, com direito a frio, chuva e cruze de fronteiras, fomos muito bem acolhidos pelo Hotel Rey Don Felipe, que nos convidou para ficarmos alguns dias em Punta Arenas, extremo sul do Chile.

Além de aconchegante e bonito, o hotel é muito bem localizado: fica próximo à praça central de Punta Arenas, onde se pode visitar a Catedral da cidade, o monumento a Fernão de Magalhães, o Palácio Sara Braun e o Centro Cultural Braun Menendez.

Duas quadras para baixo está rua Bernardo O ´Higgins, com diversas opções gastronômicas para todos os gostos (e bolsos).

Descendo um pouco mais, chega-se à Costanera de Punta Arenas: uma avenida à beira do Estreito de Magalhães. Vale um passeio por esta avenida, onde se vê do outro lado do estreito a Ilha da Terra do Fogo. Tudo a uma distância de 950 metros do hotel!

[EN] After a long day on the road, with cold weather, rain and border crossings, we were warmly welcomed by the Hotel Rey Don Felipe, who invited us to spend a few days in Punta Arenas, the extreme south of Chile.

In addition to being cozy and beautiful, the hotel is very well located: it is close to the central square of Punta Arenas, where you can visit the city’s Cathedral, the monument to Fernão de Magalhães (Ferdinand Magellan), the Sara Braun Palace and the Braun Menendez Cultural Center.

Two blocks down is Bernardo O’Higgins street, with several gastronomic options for all tastes (and pockets).

Going down a little further, you arrive at Costanera de Punta Arenas: an avenue at the edge of the Strait of Magellan. It is worth a stroll along this avenue, where you can see from the other side of the strait the Island of Tierra del Fuego. All at a distance of 950 meters from the hotel!
